~ Winter Classes ~
*Needle-Felting Club
This meets every Wednesday 3:30pm-4:45pm In this class you will learn the basics of needle felting. You choose dimensional or tapestry. For ages 8-80 All materials included. 10.00 per person each session
*Raindrop Knitting ~ This class is no longer a drop in class. Starting in Feb. Please call to reserve a spot!
Thursdays 3:30pm-4:45pm Open to first grade- through adults NOW!
This is an ongoing class for people who want to learn to knit or are beginners. There will be a variety of projects.
Bring your own needles and yarn 10.00 per session or first time deal of 18.00 that includes yarn & needles. It’s strongly suggested that if you are learning for the first time that you take two sessions in a row.
*Knitting Fingerless Mitts
Wednesday February 1st & 8th 7pm-9pm
In this two-class session, learn to knit a pair of fingerless mitts. You will learn to knit in the round and increase plus make a lovely gift for yourself or someone you love.
Must know how to knit, purl, cast on & bind off. All materials included 45.00! Teacher Patricia Earnest
*Beginning Knitting
Wednesdays February 8, 15th & 22nd 7pm-9pm
Ready to start knitting? We will go step by step and at the end of the class you will know how to knit, purl, cast-on, bind-off, increase & decrease.
You will end up with three sweet dishcloths to use at home. 45.00 Materials needed- size 7 straight needles, peaches & creme yarn and stitch markers. (All materials available at the store)

*Introduction to Drop Spindle with Leila Wice
Saturday February 18th 10:30am-12:00 noon Ages 8-80 We provide fiber and basic tools to get you started. BYO drop spindle or by a simple at the shop. No experience necessary 25.00
*Applique!
Saturday February 18th 1:30pm-3: 30pm
Learn applique techniques using wool felt and cotton floss, creating a small piece. Some embroidery also taught.
Beginners welcome. Marie Barton. All supplies included 30.00
*Craft Du Jour Parties (custom classes) - Call to schedule your gathering soon!
Date & Time to be determined (For age 6 to 100) choose one project between a variety of different craft party includes a kit to work on & teacher assistance**** Some projects are: Friendship bracelets, hand sew a small purse or pencil case, embroider a present, needle-felt a animal, needle-felt a picture, folk birds, button/ badge, gift making etc.

Class size will be 4 to 10 students. Some classes max will be 8. Class will be cancelled if less than 4. 50% payment due during sign up and paid in full by first class. ONGOING: * Tuesday Craft Night Mini Vacations Tuesdays 7:00pm - 9:00pm SIGN UP AT GOSSAMER Class may be cancelled if less than 4 students. Supplies generally included in all classes. Class fees are due at registration. Full refund up to one week before class.
About Our Teachers
Rose Sabel-Dodge ~ is the owner of Gossamer. She worked 9 1/2 Years running the "Spring Creek Store" (The Portland Waldorf School Store). She is a fiber artist with a background in weaving, knitting, sewing, creating, etc . . .
Patricia Earnest ~ is a long time creative freehand knitter and designer.
Marie Barton ~ has been working with fiber & felt for four years. Some of you might have seen her fantastic work at Gossamer. She is an active member of the Columbia Stitchery Guild and a talented artist. She has worked in many mediums including pastels & printmaking. She volunteers regularly at Scraps.
Jessica Peil-Meinghaus ~ is a graduate of Waldorf education, and a longtime doll maker, needle felter, artist, and crafter. Her beautiful work is displayed at Gossamer and throughout Portland.
Patricia Thom ~ is an extraordinary handwork teacher presently at the Village School, long time knitter, and previous owner of Abundant Yarn.
Vicky Medley ~ is a parent at the Village School. She is a long time crafter and specializes in the wet felting technique.
