Class Schedule
* Raindrop Knitting Club
This is a drop-in Knitting group for grade school children. The group meets every Thursday after school from 3:00pm-4.45pm. First meeting for new & returning students is 15.00 and includes needles and yarn for new students & 2 balls of yarn for returning students. Fee after that per week is: 5.00 each time. Susan Wilcox
* Custom Knitting Workshop
February 6th from 1:00pm-4:00pm What do you need help with? Do you want to learn to knit, cast on, finish that sweater, learn a new technique, etc. . ? Bring your concerns and desires to this open workshop, which is held monthly. Teacher Susan Wilcox will teach and guide you during this 3-hour session. Materials not included but available for purchase. 30.00
* Needle-Felting the Basics & Beyond with Jessica Peil-Meinghaus
February 13th 11:30-1:30 Learn basics of needle-felting with artist/teacher Jessica, or learn new techniques and step it up to the next level. Good class/project for Valentine's Day. Materials included 35.00
* Basic Drop Spindle Class
Saturday February 20th 1:00pm-4:00pm Susan Wilcox will show you how to draft fiber, control twist and spin like a pro using a drop spindle. This spinning class will change the way you look at yarn forever! Class fee: $30.00 includes fiber. Bring your own spindle or purchase one for 10.00 during class.
* Tapestry Needle-Felting
February 27th 11:30-1:00pm Learn the techniques of painting a picture with wool from teacher and artist Jessica Peill-Meininghaus. Materials included 30.00
* Basic & Beyond Embroidery
February 27th 2:00pm-4:00pm Learn the basics of to embroidery with artist/teacher Marie Barton. Learn stitches & techniques and choice from a variety of projects to make (bookmark, mug cozy, cuff, napkin rings). Materials included 35.00
* Knitting: Ask an expert!
Saturday, March 6th from 1:00pm-4:00pm
What do you need help with? Do you have a knitting question you've been itching to ask someone? Do you need to remember how to finish that sweater, intrepid instructions, figure out a new technique, etc. . ?
Bring your concerns and desires this Saturday. Expert Susan Wilcox will enlighten & guide you and send you on your merry way!

THE COMMUNITY CRAFTING
Sign Up at Gossamer ~ 2418 E. Burnside St.
Class size will be 4 to 10 students. Some classes max will be 8. Class will be cancelled if less than 4. 50% payment due during sign up and paid in full by first class.

About Our Teachers
Rose Sabel-Dodge ~ is the owner of Gossamer. She worked 9 1/2 Years running the "Spring Creek Store" (The Portland Waldorf School Store). She is a fiber artist with a background in weaving, knitting, sewing, creating, etc . . .
Susan Lake ~ is a talented fiber artist. She graduated form an obscure art school in Boston many years ago, and has been busy creating ever since. Her business name is The Tattered Faerie.
Deedie Bassham ~ is a long term parent at Portland Waldorf School, and a very talented handcrafter. Throughout the years she has taught different crafts to parents at the school, some of which were Ukrainian egg dying and sewing felted animals.
Marcy Ownby ~ has been making lovely dolls for her 4 children for about three years. She has taught other moms this skill also. She has agreed to share her skills with Gossamer.
Marie Barton ~ has been working with fiber & felt for four years. Some of you might have seen her fantastic work at Gossamer. She is an active member of the Columbia Stitchery Guild and a talented artist. She has worked in many mediums including pastels & printmaking. She volunteers regularly at Scraps.
Evie Resnick ~ loves to work in fiber art and is a talented teacher of the Nuno felting method.
Susan Wilcox ~ is a longtime expert knitter who has taught both children and adults.
Celeste Guodace ~ is a long time fiber artist and costumer, and we are happy to have her skills at Gossamer.
Connie Van Dyke ~ has been teaching spinning for 10 years, has a degree in the arts from U of O, and is known as a "Green Witch" perma-culture farmer and all round fiber artist.
Stacy Polson ~ is a full time artist whose art has taken many forms. She has created the medium of painting with felt.
Linda Gaudin ~ has been teaching crafting classes to children and adults for 8 years. Her crafts, which she mostly makes from recycled material have been sold all around Portland.
